Selected pieces of my tree work will be showing at Just Makers Ripley this month.

Saturday 25th - Christmas Fair Felton Gallery45. I will be in my studio for the event - hoping to get a hands-on, 'have a go' art session running for this day too.

Journeys into the woods have been a constant part of my Autumn, it has been beautiful here in Northumberland. I collect leaves, which have stayed so much longer than most years, stuffing my pockets, sketching bag, and dog walking bag. I return eager to get on with painting, sketching, work in progress. The leaves curl and dry objecting to being captured. This time they were wet, blanketing a soft mosaic on the soon to be muddy paths. I remembered to layer them carefully and with wet numb hands popped them between the pages of an old phone directory. Best damp for working with. Some for printing, some as records, some to dry completely for incorporating into mixed media pieces.
